BICS Core Lab
Spatial Omics Core Facility
OverviewThe Spatial Omics Core is a specialized facility dedicated to advancing research through state-of-the-art spatial transcriptomics. By preserving the spatial context of gene expression within the tissue architecture, we enable researchers to uncover complex biological interactions that are often lost in bulk or dissociated single-cell sequencing methods.
Comprehensive Workflow SupportOur core integrates advanced instrumentation with specialized technical expertise to ensure successful project execution. We are committed to supporting the complete experimental lifecycle, where our dedicated full-time staff manages the entire process—from initial sample preparation to final data generation.
Services & Technical CapabilitiesWe provide a versatile range of spatial solutions tailored to your specific research questions, accommodating various tissue sizes and resolution requirements.
Sample Compatibility
- Species: Validated protocols for both Human and Mouse tissues.
- Preservation Methods: We support diverse sample inputs, including Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissues for retrospective clinical studies and Fresh Frozen samples utilizing Poly-A tail capture for high-fidelity mRNA profiling.
Flexible Resolution
Our platforms offer scalable resolution options to suit your specific analytical needs, ranging from broad tissue profiling to single-cell precision:
- Standard Resolution: 50 µm spots.
- High Resolution: 8 µm – 15 µm spots.
- High-Definition: Down to 2 µm bins.
Capture Area Options
We accommodate a wide range of tissue sizes with flexible capture window dimensions, ensuring optimal data yield for your specific sample type:
- 3 mm × 3 mm
- 6 mm × 6 mm
- 7.5 mm × 7.5 mm
- 10 mm × 10 mm
- 5 mm × 13 mm
